Out of the Mouths of Babes
Well, darn! I had this idea about 5 years ago, just didn't think to capitalize on it. See, like your friend, I'm a Methodist pastor. I printed up some "Get out of hell free" cards to try to explain the medieval church's practice of selling indulgences. As a joke, I told the kids they should try to sell the cards to the choir, which met at the same time as their class.
I had previously tipped off the choir, asking them to refuse to buy the cards, telling the kids that God's grace is free. One lady apparently wasn't paying attention, and bought a card for $10.00 -- from my son. Said she thought it was a fund raiser for the youth group.
