After Katrina
After hurricane Katrina I was working crowd control at a Red Cross assistance center. My job was to walk through the crowd with a list of the zip codes that we were authorized to assist. I had a large number of the plastic Get Out of Hell Free cards on hand. When I encountered someone from an area we could not help I gave them a GOOHF card and suggested they stay in line anyway. The reason being that we were constantly getting authorization to assist new areas.
We had no trouble from the crowd, unlike some areas that had fights and other altercations. I attribute part of the peace to people being able to look at the GOOHF card and relax or even laugh.
